We asked the landlady if we could cook up some pasta with pesto, and she proceeded to make it for us - she also gave us a bottle of wine and then knocked on the door and came in with a secondo piatto - a second course - of meat...Tomorrow night she has promised to make us a Sicilian dinner with her and her husband, so we'll go to the pasticceria tomorrow morning to buy dessert - canoli!
